About us

SPEL was established in 1990 as an Allen-Bradley distributor for the former Czechoslovakia. From the beginning, we focused on technical expertise, reliability, and close cooperation with our customers.

In 1992, we expanded our activities to include our own engineering in industrial automation, and three years later also electrical manufacturing. A major milestone came in 2000, when our activities were split into the distribution company ControlTech and SPEL, focused on engineering and manufacturing.

Today, we build on more than thirty years of experience in technology, automation, and the development of specialized solutions. Our main activities include industrial automation and process control, transport telematics and transportation applications, Smart City solutions, service activities, research, and development.

Over time, we have grown not only professionally but also geographically. ControlTech companies were established in Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Serbia, and Croatia, and additional specialized companies joined the group through acquisitions.

Our goal is to provide customers with reliable and sustainably viable solutions that combine modern technologies with practical experience. We rely on expertise, a stable background, and the ability to design, manufacture, implement, and service solutions according to the needs of individual projects.

Since our founding in 1990, we have evolved from a distribution company into a broader technology group operating in several European countries. Every step of our development has been driven by the effort to stay closer to customers, expand our capabilities, and build a stable foundation for further growth.
